Diana Johnson, Labour MP for Hull North

I am Hull North’s local Labour Member of Parliament. First elected in May 2005, and re-elected in May 2010, I work hard representing the Hull wards of Avenue, Beverley, University, Bransholme East, Bransholme West, Orchard Park and Greenwood, Bricknell, King’s Park and Newland. Although this website only covers a small fraction of my activity, I hope that it provides a useful insight into the nature of my work for Hull North.

9 December 2009: Additional Costs Allowance 2008/09

Statement from Diana Johnson MP

Ahead of their official release by Parliament, I am today releasing the latest full-year details of what I claimed from the Additional Costs Allowance (ACA), which contributes towards the costs of running the second home that I require in my job as an MP.

In 2008/09 I claimed a total of £17,946.15p, against the maximum permitted of £24,006. All of my allowance claims for the past five years have been independently audited in Sir Thomas Legg's review and found to be consistent not just with the old rules, but with the principles underlying the incoming allowances system.

Full details of allowances, including receipts, are available at the Parliament website on www.parliament.uk.
