MP asks about Ebola screening for ports such as Hull

Speaking today (16 October) in Commons Business Questions, Hull North MP Diana Johnson asked for a Parliamentary debate on whether Ebola screening is planned for ports such as Hull.

This follows an announcement by the Government earlier this week that entrants through Heathrow and Gatwick airports, and Eurostar rail terminals, would be screened.

Diana Johnson MP asked the Leader of the House, William Hague MP: "The Health Secretary made a statement on Monday about Ebola and the targeted screening at Heathrow, Gatwick and Eurostar. However, he didn't refer to ports like Hull busy entry points and also targets for illegal immigration; and I wonder whether it would be possible to have a debate on what more needs to be done to protect all our points of entry."
