MP at Greenway Academy to back World School Milk Day

Hull North MP Diana Johnson was at Greenway Academy to support World School Milk Day, which is celebrated in over 30 countries around the world.

The goal of World School Milk Day is to celebrate children drinking milk in school and early years settings on one day of the year all across the world. This year took place on Wednesday 25th September. Launched in 2000, the day is used to promote the importance of drinking milk at school to children in a fun and educational way.

A third of a pint of milk contains nearly all the vitamins and nutrients of importance to humans, including over half of a child's Daily Reference Intake (DRI) of calcium, which is vital to help build strong and healthy teeth and bones. Getting these nutrients in early childhood provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to grow up strong and healthy.
