Over the past five years we have lost 444 officers and police numbers are now at their lowest level since 1979. It's no surprise then, that our police force has recently been judged to be ‘inadequate’ by the Government's own watchdog.

I have been a vocal critic of these cuts and, working with you, have campaigned tirelessly to stop them. On your behalf I have asked questions in Parliament, challenged the Prime Minister, conducted resident surveys and presented our petitions in Parliament.

Finally we have got somewhere.
