MP sees progress at Hull's Siemens factory

Diana Johnson MP visited the Siemens wind turbine factory site at Hull's Alexandra Dock.
 
Siemens £310m investment in Hull follows a long local campaign to bring wind turbine manufacturing to Hull and the Energy Estuary.
 
The MP is now battling for the Government to support the development of green energy in the Humber and to help ensure export access to the EU Single Market.

Hull MP pushes case for Humber Wind Energy College

Hull North MP Diana Johnson met two Government Ministers today (2 March) to press the case for having a National Wind Energy College based in the Humber area.
 
The Government in the previous Parliament had first announced this scheme in December 2014 (see http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull-home-new-national-wind-energy-colleg...). 
 

It’s unclear today if Hull is part of the 'Northern Powerhouse'

Hull North MP Diana Johnson has responded to today’s Autumn Statement from the Chancellor.
 
Diana Johnson MP said: “In this Autumn Statement Hull, UK City of Culture 2017, gets a share of £1m of extra funding, while losing tens of million more in council funding.
