About Hull North and Cottingham
The Kingston upon Hull North and Cottingham Parliamentary Constituency was created before the 2024 General Election and covers most of the old Kingston Upon Hull North Constituency, East and West of the River Hull, and the village of Cottingham.

The Constituency contains the Hull local government wards of Kingswood, West Carr, Beverley and Newland, Orchard Park, University, Bricknell, Avenue and Central; plus the East Riding of Yorkshire wards of Cottingham North and Cottingham South.

The West of the Constituency includes the village of Cottingham, the large housing estates of North Hull, Bricknell and Orchard Park as well as the Newland, Sculcoates and Avenues areas. Beverley Road provides a central spine for the Constituency going North out of Hull City Centre.

The Constituency’s Southern tip includes Hull Paragon Station and Hull Royal Infirmary in Hull City Centre, while its North Western edge reaches as far as Cottingham’s Castle Hill Hospital.

The Northern edge of the Constituency extends through Dunswell and East of the River Hull to include parts of the Bransholme housing estate and the newer housing, shopping and leisure developments of Kingswood on the North Eastern edge of the Constituency.
The University of Hull is centrally located in the Constituency and the areas off Cottingham Road, Inglemire Lane, Beverley Road and Newland Avenue have a substantial student population for most of the year.
