Hull MP asks for maximum public access to ‘stunning’ new film about World War One

Diana Johnson MP today asked in the Commons for the public to have the greatest possible access to ‘They Shall Not Grow Old’ - Peter Jackson’s film about World War One.
On Remembrance Sunday recently BBC Two showed ‘They Shall Not Grow Old’, portraying conditions on the frontline in World War One using technology to enhance old black and white footage, much of it not seen before, from the Imperial War Museum archive.

Diana Johnson voted Backbencher of the Year 2018

Diana was presented with the Political Studies Association's Backbencher of the Year by John Bercow, Speaker of the House of Commons for her work as a backbencher campaigning for the victims of the NHS contaminated blood scandal.
This resulted in the Infected Blood Public Inquiry that started in September.

Diana opens new extension at Kingswood Parks Primary School

Diana was delighted to officially open the new extension at Kingswood Parks Primary School.
The extension caters for the expanded capacity needed at the school due to the increasing population of the Kingswood area in Hull North.

Diana Johnson MP was joined by supporters of decriminalising abortion in the UK at a Parliamentary event ahead of the publication of her Private Members’ Bill to modernise abortion laws. 
This included Lord David Steel who piloted the 1967 Abortion Act through Parliament.
