Commons Speaker's tribute to Hull's Headscarf Revolutionaries

The House of Commons Speaker John Bercow paid a moving tribute to Yvonne Blenkinsop and Hull's Headscarf Revolutionaries in the House of Commons.
Yvonne is the last surviving member of the Hull women who worked to improve safety standards at sea following the 1968 Triple Trawler Disaster.
Diana Johnson MP invited Yvonne to visit the House of Commons, care of Hull Trains, for the first time since the Headscarf Revolutionaries made their historic visit to Westminster in 1968 to lobby the Government of the day. Today Yvonne watched Prime Minister's Questions and met Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn.
Hull MPs are pleased that the achievements of Yvonne and her colleagues, saving countless lives at sea, is being recognised - decades later.
