Hull MP asks for extra Government funding for social care in Hull

Hull North MP Diana Johnson today asked Ministers for extra ring-fenced funding for social care in Hull.
The Hull North MP was speaking at Communities and Local Government Questions this afternoon in the House of Commons and the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Sajid Javid MP, responded.
Labour is concerned that the extra council tax charges and 'New Homes Bonus' measures that the Government recently announced to address the social care funding gap a gap that has arisen due to central government grant cuts since 2010 will have the most effect in wealthier areas and least effect in poorer areas, like Hull, that usually have the greater social care demand.
