Diana Johnson MP spoke up in the House of Commons in favour of the Right to Buy, but with a major programme of social house-building and renovation.
The Hull North MP said that it was important to meeting both need and aspiration for the many, not just the few, and this meant both investing in housing to rent and buy and keeping the Right to Buy that council tenants had enjoyed for the past 38 years.
