Hull MP demands local and national recognition for Hull's Headscarf Revolutionaries

Diana Johnson MP today told the House of Commons the story of Hull’s Headscarf Revolutionaries and demanded that they be given proper recognition locally in Hull - and nationally.
The Hull North MP named the four leaders of the 1968 campaign for trawler safety for the first time in the Commons and compared their experience to other working women campaigners who also achieved historic victories - the 1888 matchwomen's strike and the 1968 strike by 187 machinists at Ford's in Dagenham.
