The Hull North MP named the four leaders of the 1968 campaign for trawler safety for the first time in the Commons and compared their experience to other working women campaigners who also achieved historic victories - the 1888 matchwomen's strike and the 1968 strike by 187 machinists at Ford's in Dagenham.
