Hull North MP Diana Johnson is to meet Police Minister Tony McNulty MP to discuss the standard of the policing service in Hull.
The meeting is due to take place on 8 November and comes after the latest Police Performance Assessments for the 43 police forces of England and Wales showed Humberside remaining, jointly with Northamptonshire, as the worst performing police force.
Diana Johnson MP said: "This latest assessment of the progress of Humberside Police raises the unresolved issue of how, when and in what form the independent, expert recommendations of Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary will be taken forward to meet the twin challenges of maintaining local policing, while combating serious organised crime and terrorism.
"Although I know that Humberside Police is working hard to improve their performance, with the increased resources Government has provided since 1997, these latest results illustrate the pressing need to support these efforts with the modernisation essential to improve policing throughout Hull. This is what I will be discussing with the Minister."
