Sun safety a burning issue for Hull MP

Hull North Diana Johnson MP had her skin checked at a special Molewatch clinic organised by Cancer Research UK yesterday (29th June) and backed the campaign for sun safety. The clinic, staffed by dermatologists and specialist skin cancer nurses, was held to promote skin cancer awareness and the importance of SunSmart behaviour this summer. Diana Johnson said: “With summer upon us we all need to remember the importance of staying safe in the sun. The shocking fact is that sunburn can double your risk of skin cancer. It is important to avoid getting sunburnt.

Hull North's Labour MP Diana Johnson has been appointed to the House of Commons Public Accounts Committee.

This prestigious committee examines reports from the National Audit Office on the economy, efficency and effectiveness of government departments and other public bodies. The committee looks at the successes and failures of service delivery on subjects as diverse as dentistry, homelessness and renewable energy.

The committee meets twice weekly when Parliament is sitting and produces around 50 reports per year, twice as many as any other Parliamentary committee.
