Hull North MP Diana Johnson has pressed Ministers on the continuing disparity in arts funding between London and other regions.
Speaking today in Culture, Media and Sport Questions in the House of Commons, the Labour MP quoted comments made in Hull on 28 May by the new Chief Executive of Arts Council England, Darren Henley.

Hull North MP Diana Johnson said: "Hull is clearly outside this Government's 'Golden Triangle' and barely gets a mention in this Autumn Statement and all the talk about a 'Northern Powerhouse'.
"This Statement had nothing to support Hull's work as the national City of Culture 2017, but finds £78m for a new Theatre and exhibition complex in Manchester.
Speaking a year after Hull was announced as UK City of Culture 2017, Hull North MP Diana Johnson today questioned the urgency in Whitehall over making it a success.
Speaking in Business Questions to the Leader of the House of Commons, Diana Johnson MP asked: "As a fellow Yorkshire MP, I know the Leader will be aware that's it's a year ago today that Hull was announced as City of Culture for 2017.
