Coalition snubs Hull A&E for winter crisis cash

Hull North MP Diana Johnson will today visit the Accident and Emergency Department at Hull Royal Infirmary days after Ministers snubbed Hull for winter crisis cash.


Hull and East Yorkshire Health Trust recently bid for approximately £2m from the £250m extra funding being allocated to A&Es across the country to help relieve the increased pressures experienced during the winter months. This is part of the £500m of top-up funding for A&Es that the Prime Minister recently announced for the next two years.

Diana protests against Lib Dem-backed Royal Mail sell-off

Hull North MP Diana Johnson joined a protest outside Newland Avenue's Post Office  by postal workers against Coalition plans to privatise the Royal Mail.


The Lib Dem-backed Government wants to sell off Royal Mail on the cheap due to the Coalition free markets dogma and to plug a financial hole in the British economy caused by George Osborne’s three years of zero growth as Chancellor.

Diana backs 'Cash for Kids'

Diana Johnon MP met Courage the Cat as she backed the Cash for Kids charitable work in Hull.


Cash for Kids is the official charity of Viking FM and provides a helping hand to disabled and disadvantaged children in East Yorkshire


and Northern Lincolnshire.


It helps local children who have special needs, are disabled, have life limiting illnesses, have been abused or neglected or simply need


a little extra care and guidance, all through our grant giving process.

MP backs new Endike Food Bank's appeal for donations

Hull North MP Diana Johnson delivered a food donation to the newly opened Endike Food Bank in 21st Avenue.


The use of charity Food Banks has tripled in the past year.


Job losses, rising food and fuel prices and tax hikes are seeing many Hull families struggling to make ends meet. Working people are on average £1,350 a year worse off since 2010. Benefit cuts are hitting many.
