Hull MP backs Trussell Trust call for Food Bank probe

Hull North MP Diana Johnson has backed the Trussell Trust’s call for a proper inquiry into the causes of the massive increase in Food Bank use.


The call was made on a visit to Hull’s main city centre Food Bank today. The Trussell Trust has reported that 2,600 people now use Food Banks in Hull and numbers continue to rise.

Hull MP welcomes new funding for Ennerdale swimming pool

Hull North MP Diana Johnson has welcomed today’s announcement that Hull City Council is working with the NHS to remove the immediate closure threat to Ennerdale swimming pool.


But the Labour MP warned that the longer term threat hanging over the Hull North pool and other local services remained.

MP at Greenway Academy to back World School Milk Day

Hull North MP Diana Johnson was at Greenway Academy to support World School Milk Day, which is celebrated in over 30 countries around the world. 


The goal of World School Milk Day is to celebrate children drinking milk in school and early years settings on one day of the year all across the world.  This year took place on Wednesday 25th September. Launched in 2000, the day is used to promote the importance of drinking milk at school to children in a fun and educational way. 

Hull MP calls for local people to give their views on new flood insurance plan

Hull North MP Diana Johnson has contacted constituents highlighting shortcomings in the Coalition Government’s recently announced flood insurance scheme – ‘Flood Re’.


The Labour MP is asking for local constituents’ views about the scheme, which she will then pass on to the Government. Hundreds of Hull North families have already come forward with their concerns about the new scheme.
